I'll be performing with the video artist, Paul Rowley, on November 30th at the Stone.  We'll play the same program at 8pm and 10pm. I've been collaborating with Paul for about six months and this will be the premeire of our work together. Our project is too difficult to explain in an email- so please come and see for yourself!  There is more info about the concert attached.

Emily Manzo and Paul Rowley are pleased to announce the premiere of a new performance of collaborative works for piano and video at The Stone.

Emily will be playing a selection of works for piano and toy piano, and will be accompanied by live video elements created in response to the music. The program includes works for solo piano by John Cage, Morton Feldman, Eve Belgarian, and Helmut Lachenmann.

The videos were created at a recent residency at The Experimental Television Center in New York. Using the proprietary video system at the Center, Paul created a library of elements which will be edited and manipulated live during the performance.

ADMISSION is $10 per set
students 13 to 19 admitted half price. children 12 and under free
there are no advance ticket sales. all admissions are at the door prior to each performance

sorry again for this unmpteenth break, but a month before, I’d like to set some X-Mas news…

AJELLO  ‘ITALO X-ERIMENTO / ROBOPOP’ in the shops

"Is this the future?" Mantra are asking with their next release, and with breaks and house infusing even more so each day, maybe it is. A definite disco beat and vibe for A side "Italo X-Perimento". Transcending into the depths of electro-fried synths whilst solid grooves and acid bass lines cross over long synth chords creating an ambience that will really take control of the dance floor.
B side "Robopop" has crossover viability smeared all over it. All the ingredients are here, catchy riffs, electro toms scattered all over the mix, funky wah guitar and punchy bass lines. This is definitely one that will be filling up boxes across all genres of dance music.
